Almaden reaches out to hurricane victims |
Almaden neighbors raising funds for Katrina victims

Overwhelmed by the devastation that Hurricane Katrina created for her fellow Americans, Almaden resident Michelle Takeuchi spearheaded a fund-raising effort with her children, friends and neighbors this past Sunday.

| Fifth grader jumps into action, collects $4,000 for victims

After watching days of heart-wrenching TV coverage of the devastation Hurricane Katrina wrought on the residents of the Gulf Coast, 10-year-old Harry Kendall felt compelled to help the victims in the only way he could. He grabbed his sisters and went door to door last Sunday, asking neighbors to fill a tin can with donations for the victims.
