Pat’s Run takes off this Saturday

This Saturday marks the fourth Pat’s Run, a fundraiser that does more than raise money to help students. It also engages the community in a healthy and fun activity.
Since its inception, the race has grown sharply with 6,000 runners signing up to run last year in Almaden, where Pat Tillman grew up. Its proceeds, both here and in Phoenix, Ariz. where Tillman went to college and started his football career, help inspire and educate young people who want to make positive changes in themselves and the world. Andrea Winters loses
11 inches
Andrea Winters lost 11 inches of her hair last weekend, but it was for a great cause. Andrea had her hair cut for Locks of Love, an organization that provides wigs and hairpieces to children that have lost their hair for medical reasons including those undergoing chemotherapy to treat cancer.
Andrea, 8, who attends Los Alamitos, has been growing her hair for 18 months to get it long enough to donate. The minimum amount is 10 inches.
