Almaden soccer player travels to Denmark, Sweden to play in junior
world games

It’s not every teen that gets to play soccer in Denmark and Sweden and gets to celebrate her 16th birthday there.
Brooke Beytin returned Sunday from a two-week trip to the two Scandinavian countries where she played soccer as a guest player on a team that came in first at a Danish tournament and third at a huge youth tourney in Sweden.

Last stop before Beijing
San Jose State process center for
Beijing Olympians
Beginning late last week, U.S. Olympic athletes, coaches and officials started traveling through San Jose on their way to the Beijing Games that begin on Aug. 8.
San Jose State University is the final jumping off point; the place where U.S. Olympians are processed prior to leaving the country for the games.
