CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK

CRIME: HOMICIDE

On Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 at 6:16 a.m., Ghirmay Frezghi was found murdered at Monroe Street and Tisch Way in West San Jose. This was a particularly brutal homicide. The victim had been stabbed multiple times and his body had been set on fire. It was the victim’s 30th birthday.

Ghirmay, known to his friends as Jimmy, was Ethiopian, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. He had long dark hair and earrings in both ears. At the time of his death he was wearing a sweatshirt and corduroy pants.

The victim drove a late 90s model Dodge Stratus four-door. It had tinted windows and no license plates. That vehicle is still missing. We are asking anyone that sees that vehicle to call 9-1-1.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call the San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit at (408) 277-5283. If you wish to remain anonymous, and obtain a monetary reward, call Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP.
