Almaden’s Maria Stich recently packed up a truckload of items for the homeless, and with her daughters in tow, drove to St. James Park, where she was promptly surrounded by those in need.
“As we pulled up, I got out of the car and within minutes, I was surrounded by many homeless people looking to see what they needed,” said Stich. “I gave them blankets and helped to find them jackets in their size. They took sweaters, anything that would keep them warm. They tried on shoes and let me tell you, they were thrilled! I was thanked, blessed and hugged. To see the looks of happiness in there eyes was worth a thousand words.”
Stich, a realtor at Ventura Barnett Properties, wants to thank her co-workers and the rest of the Almaden community for making so many people happy this holiday.
