Come celebrate the start of the New Year with a special evening of "chamber music in world flavors"! Internationally renowned pianist Donna Stoering will be joined by duduk player Shea Comfort and a variety of professional young string players from London, Florida, Georgia and California in a program of works by Mozart, Brahms, Heisinger and Komitas, benefiting the San José Youth Chamber Orchestras. Ladyesong a Woman’s Vocal Ensemble, are seeking new singers. Applicants must be able to sight read and be available on Monday evenings for rehearsals. Founded in the winter of 1995 by director Mary Elizabeth Enmann, Ladyesong has been working toward sharing the gift of music and a commitment to the community in the South Bay Area. Ladyesong enjoys performing a variety of vocal music, both sacred and secular - from Gabrielli to Gershwin, from Dvorak to Doo Wop - and has provided music during local church services as well as concerts in community venues. Ladyesong's membership is diverse; from homemakers to business women to retirees, these women have bonded over their love of music and song. American Musical Theater San Jose presents “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. Starring Ted Neely in the title role and Living Colour’s Corey Gover as Judas, this musical sensation marked the first collaboration of legends Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Three Wise Kings Celebration: The Children’s Discovery Museum ends the winter holiday season with a community celebration, popular in many parts of Europe and Latin America, with El Dia de los Reyes Magos. Do something totally fun and creative for yourself in 2008...Hands On Clay classes in Almaden is now accepting applications for its small, relaxing clay classes in January on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m., and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11 a.m. The fee includes instructions, clay, glazes, use of tools, and kiln firings.
