Coroner’s Case
5200 Block of Camden Avenue
A 45 year-old with a history of heart disease and diabetes died.
A coroner’s release number was obtained.

Strong Arm Robbery
1300 block of Blossom Hill Rd.
A strong arm robbery occurred in front of Mervyn’s department
store. A Salvation Army employee was collecting Christmas donations
in front of the store when an unknown male suspect approached him.
The suspect opened his jacket and exposed a handgun in his waist
band. The suspect told the victim to stay still as the suspect ran
off with the pot containing the donations. The suspect ran to a
waiting white mini-van in the parking lot and fled the scene.

Officer Involved Non-Injury Accident
Dent/Kooser
Officers were conducting a traffic accident investigation at the
intersection of Dent and Kooser. An officer’s patrol vehicle
was parked on Kooser providing traffic diversion and scene protection
for the accident. An unrelated vehicle was eastbound on Kooser approaching
Dent when it collided with the patrol vehicle’s push bars.
The vehicle went on and broad sided an ambulance (also onscene for
the prior accident). The driver of the vehicle was stopped and booked
for driving under the influence. The patrol vehicle had minor damage
to the front push bars.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Blossom Hill/Hoffman.
An assault with a deadly weapon occurred at Blossom Hill and Hoffman.
A 60 year-old male was accosted by two subjects who wanted a cigarette
from him. The victim refused and was assaulted by the suspects with
their fists. The victim was knocked out by the suspects. The suspects
fled the scene and were taken into custody. The witness made a positive
identification of the suspects. The victim was transported by ambulance
to a local hospital.

Residential Burglary
900 Block of Blossom Hill Road
San Jose Police responded to the location on the report of several
persons fleeing the scene of a possible burglary. On arrival four
suspects were detained. Follow up investigation revealed that a
residential burglary had occurred in the 6500 Block of Stone Hill
Drive. The victim’s property was recovered and four suspects
were booked into Santa Clara County Jail for residential burglary.
