Sports fields’ gate will ensure facility use is scheduled and permitted

Editor,
In his letter to the Times editor on Dec 17, Doug Turk yet again complains about the proposed locked sports field facility being built for the almost exclusive use of the Almaden community.

He may find it interesting that the fencing and gates were added to the plan, at considerable expense, for the benefit of those in the area concerned about unmanaged and uncoordinated use. The gates will insure all use of the facility will be scheduled and by permit.

Perhaps he is suggesting we remove the fences from the plan so that everyone can have ready access to the facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We’ll bring that up to the planners as we zero in on the final design.

Thanks for the suggestion.
