CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK
Robbery/attempted murder
CASE NUMBER: 03-316-0029, INVESTIGATOR: Pomeroy, EXT: 277-4166
SYNOPSIS: On Nov. 12, 2003 at 12:26 a.m., two men entered the Li’l
Grocer Liquors at 5807 Cottle Road in south San Jose. One of them
shot the clerk three times with a large caliber handgun before they
took approximately $500 from the cash drawer. Although the victim
remains in critical condition, he was able to provide a description
to the responding police officers at the scene. The suspects were
described as black male adults, in their mid 20s, both about 5-foot
6, 180 pounds. A witness observed a light colored car leaving the
scene that looked like a late 70s or early 80s model Chevrolet Caprice.
That car was last seen travelling southbound on Cottle Road toward
Highway 85.
CRIME STOPPERS is a cooperative effort between the local media,
San Jose Police Department, and a citizen board of directors. Once
a week an unsolved police case is presented to the public. Citizens
are urged to call 947-STOP if they have information on any other
serious crime. You do not give your name, you are given a code number
and if the tip results in an arrest you receive a reward of up to
$1,000 NO ONE KNOWS WHO YOU ARE.
