By Ed Koetitz, Young Adult Librarian
Special to the Times

A tradition begins Saturday, Dec. 9 from 12:30 p.m.-4 p.m. when the public is invited to attend the first annual Family Holiday Festival in the Almaden Community Center’s large community room. This event is sponsored by Councilmember Nancy Pyle, the San Jose Police Officer’s Association and the United Sates Marines. This holiday festival will include building a gingerbread house, great holiday music and story time presentations hosted by the Almaden Library staff. Give back to others by bringing a donation for one of the following charities to the event: Toys for Tots (bring any unwrapped toy), Family Giving Tree (wish cards will be available) and Second Harvest Food Bank (non-perishable food donations accepted all season long). For more information, contact the District 10 office at (408) 535-4982 or e-mail Stephanie at Stephanie.holm@sanjoseca.gov.
