A Thanksgiving Eve tradition?
The David Osborn Band recently played into the early morning for
a full house of locals and Almaden expatriates. The Almaden Feed
and Fuel served as the setting Nov. 26 for a social conglomerate,
mixing age with race and social status.
“Everybody’s from Almaden, and this is the greatest
night of our lives,” summed up an enthused Bradley Erickson,
a 23-year-old account executive and Almaden native currently working
for the “Valley Voice” in Goleta, Calif.
The David Osborn Band sparked the fuse. The band played hard and
they played loud, energizing a rowdy bunch with catchy originals
and classic covers. “You Open My Eyes,” written by Osborn
himself in ’98, especially touched the group as Osborn dedicated
the song to specific members of the audience, noting several humorous
favors along the way.
During 1998, the song was inspired in gratitude, as Osborn walked
home from Leland High School as a senior.
“All my life I've been surrounded by a wonderful family and
great friends,” says Osborn. “The song “You Open
My Eyes” describes my view on life that has been given to
me by my faith, family, and friends."
The David Osborn Band will return home again to play at the Almaden
Feed and Fuel on Saturday, Dec. 20. In the meantime, you may catch
them at The James Joyce in Santa Barbara, CA.
The Almaden Feed and Fuel is located at 18950 Almaden Road,
San Jose, CA 95120. The James Joyce is located 513 State St., Santa
Barbara, CA 93101. (805) 962-2688
