CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK
Robbery/Attempted Kidnapping
On Nov. 13, 2003 at around 7:30 p.m., a woman was getting into
her car in the eastern parking structure of the Westfield Shopping
Center Valley Fair located at 1190 Steven’s Creek Blvd., San
Jose. The suspect approached her with a knife that he held in his
left hand. He forced her into the car and tied at least one of her
hands. He ordered her to cooperate as they drove off in the victim’s
Mercedes Benz. She saw an oncoming car in the parking lot and jumped
out of the moving vehicle. The suspect stopped the car and fled
into the Macy’s store on the second floor. The suspect was
described as a white male about 35 years old, 6’3” tall,
230 lbs., muscular build, with blue eyes and brown hair. The victim
further described the suspect as having a faded tattoo of three
or four circles on the left web of his hand. Each circle was a different
color, possibly red, green etc. The center of the circles was not
filled in. She described him as a heavy smoker with badly discolored
teeth.
