Valle Monte League celebrates ‘Holidays Remembered’ with Christmas Tree Elegance

For 39 years, Valle Monte League, an all-volunteer group of 150 women, has presented a popular series of events that annually herald the beginning of the holiday season. This year, the 39th, will be no exception as the group puts on events on Nov. 28 through Dec. 1 at the Hilton/DoubleTree Hotel in a four-day holiday extravaganza.

A highlight of the events is always Almaden’s own Bloomster’s Christmas tree, such as the one above from last year’s event.

The eight events include fashion shows, tree viewing, silent auctions and parties. Outstanding Bay Area designers sumptuously decorate trees that are laden with gifts, valued at thousands of dollars. The individual trees are awarded at the children’s party, the holiday office party, grand ball and the daytime events; the balances are awarded the night of the grand ball. More than 5,000 guests from all over California attend Valle Monte League’s Christmas Tree Elegance events annually.

A highlight of the events is always Almaden’s own Bloomster’s Christmas tree.

At these beautiful events, annually held at the Double Tree Hotel, a fashion show, produced by Macy*s, is featured at the champagne brunch, two morning coffees, two afternoon teas and the holiday office party. The holiday office party also features dinner and a silent auction. In addition to the six fashion show events, there is a children’s party, which includes a visit from Santa, a gift for all and a show. The gala grand ball, on Friday night, a black-tie event, features a gourmet dinner, a silent auction and dancing to the music of The Joe Sharino Band.

Beneficiaries of the events are four local licensed mental health agencies: Family & Children Services, The John XXIII Senior Center, The Centre for Living with Dying and The Alzheimer’s Activity Center.
