Pearl Avenue Library offers many November activities

The Pearl Avenue Branch Library is offering a number of activities for November.
Families with children of all ages are invited to Mad Science: Fire and Ice! on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. Come be amazed by science. Some topics you’ll discover are the wonders of dry ice, a gassy taste test, a bubbling potion, and much more.
Get that Job! On Fridays, Nov. 7, 14, and 21 at 4 p.m. Join us for a three-week series on job searching, building your resume and interviewing skills. The workshops require pre-registration at the library’s customer service desk.
Starting in November, teens are invited to Wii Gaming on Thursdays at 4 p.m. Join us for the latest games and lots of fun, sponsored by the Friends of the Pearl Avenue Branch Library.
Story Times
Join us this month for our new Pajama Story Time on Wednesday, November 5 at 7 p.m.
- Preschool Story Time for ages 3-5 is every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
- Toddler Story Time for ages 18-36 months is every Friday at 10:30 a.m.
- Family Story Time is held on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
Regular events and workshops
- The ESL Conversation Club meets on Mondays at 5 p.m. This one-hour session is a great way to practice your English and to make friends at the library. No pre-registration required.
- The library now offers Internet Basics training and Internet Básico en Español on Tuesdays. Internet Basics meets 11 a.m. Internet Básico meets at 6 p.m. Sign up for either class at the service desk or by calling (408) 808-3053.
- Teens, are you looking to volunteer in your neighborhood? Meet other teens, earn community service hours, make a difference in your community, and have fun doing it! Join teensReach on Friday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. Teens must be 13 years or older to participate. For more information, call the library.
- This month’s children’s craft will be a Thanksgiving craft on Friday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. The craft is for children in kindergarten through grade six. All materials will be provided.
Friends of the Pearl Avenue Branch Library:

All San Jose Public Library branches and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library will observe holiday closures on Nov. 27 and 28 .
