Former Almaden resident Mark Miller dies in New Jersey
Mark Vincent Miller of Union City, N.J., formerly of San Jose, died on Oct. 24 following a brief illness.

Miller, son of Virginia “Ginny” Miller and the late William G. Miller, was born Aug. 22, 1970 in San Francisco and raised in Almaden. An avid Boy Scout, Miller was a member of Troop 211 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a member of the PAL Soccer League. He attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School in Saratoga and St. Martin’s Catholic School and Leland High School. He graduated from Harbor High School in Santa Cruz in 1989.
Miller moved to New Jersey in 1997 where he worked in construction. He met and married his wife Nina Miller. They were together for six years. Their son Owen Liam was born in 2005. He is survived by Nina and Owen; mother Virginia of Folsom; brothers Michael (Molly) Miller of Casa Grande, Ariz. and John (Tina) Miller of Temecula; nieces Tilly, Hailey and Martika; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 with burial to follow in Temecula.
