South Hills Community Church spearheads Southern California Wildfire Relief

Volunteers and members of South Hills Community Church, along with Pastor Jon Talbert, are on their way to Southern California to aid the victims of the recent wildfires in donated trucks filled to capacity with desperately needed items including toiletries, food, clothing, blankets, pet food, books, toys and stuffed animals.

“We've had quite an outpouring from people,” Talbert said. “Almaden has jumped on the map with this thing. Although stuff is coming from all over the Bay area, the people of Almaden are really behind this.”

The relief team is expected to return on Saturday.

Next week, the Almaden Times will feature an in-depth article chronicling the events leading up to and following their journey into the fire-ravaged regions of Lake Arrowhead.
