The Vineland Branch library offers four new and featured events this month. The first is Wii Wednesdays, starting Nov. 7 and continuing on every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Kids of all ages are invited to experience the Nintendo Wii! The Wii is a wireless video game console that lets players battle it out in tennis, bowling and much more. It’s a great way to meet new friends and amp up your energy. The program is generously sponsored by the Vineland Friends of the Library. Wii Wednesdays are in Vineland’s Community Room.

“Choices for Children,” a parenting workshop conducted in Spanish will be held, Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. This free, special workshop presented by “Choices for Children” will cover many topics but focus on temperament and show some useful techniques as to how to deal with such questions as; Is your child’s personality and temperament different from yours? How does a parent deal with this? Child enrichment activities and snacks will be provided for the children of parents attending the workshop. Registration is required. Monthly Laughter Yoga: No Kidding! will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Come and laugh for no reason with Dr. Laugh, Arya Pathria, a certified laughter leader. You will benefit from laughter yoga if you are stressed out, want to learn laughter meditation, or just add creativity and fun to your life. Laughter Yoga meets in the Vineland Community Room.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 8 when P&T Puppets presents the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Elves and the Shoemaker.” Jack Frost, Frosty the Snowman and Jingles the Dwarf will be on hand to entertain as well. This fun program for the whole family takes place at 11 a.m.

All San Jose Public Library branches will be closed Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans’ Day.

Events:

- Yoga will be held on Monday nights at 6 p.m. (No class Nov. 22). Come relax with a yoga instructor. No charge. Bring a mat.

- Learn to knit or teach someone else at the Knitting Circle every Saturday at 4 p.m. Open to all ages. No charge. Bring your materials.

- Saturday Sci-Fi Book Group’s selection this month is “The Forever War” by Joe Haldeman, which meets Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. The group meets the second Saturday of each month. Visitors are always welcome.

- Adult Mystery Book Club will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:45 p.m. and reading “Turkey Day Murder” by Leslie Meier. All mystery fans are invited to attend the second Wednesday of each month. Visitors are always welcome.

- The Evening Book Discussion Group will meet Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. This month’s selection is “East, West,” stories by Salman Rushdie. The group usually meets the third Tuesday of each month. Visitors are always welcome.

- Senior Book Discussion Group (50+) meets Thursday Nov. 15 at 10:15 a.m. “The Innocent Man” by John Grisham will be discussed. The group meets the fourth Thursday of each month. Visitors are always welcome.

- One on One Internet and Computer Help. The library has knowledgeable, helpful volunteers to assist with specific questions. Call (408) 808-3020 to set up an appointment. For people 16 and older.

- The ESL Conversation Club is held every Tuesday at 1 p.m. This one-hour session is a great way to practice English and to make friends at the library. No pre-registration required.

- The next teensReach meeting is Friday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. Teens ages 13-18 are invited to participate in the monthly teensReach meeting. Community service time is earned. Light refreshments are served.

- Wii Wednesdays are every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Come experience the new gaming sensation!

- Thump returns every Thursday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m. Learn drumming techniques from an experienced musician.

- New! Vineland’s Anime Club is for teens grades six and up. Watch new anime episodes and trailers and discuss your favorite manga. Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

- Vineland Fantastic Kids’ Book Club: Saturday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. Do you like to talk about the books you’ve read? Would you like to make new friends? Then join Vineland’s Fantastic Kids’ Book Club, for children in grades two through five. In November our second and third graders will read “PeeWee’s Tale” by Johanna Hurwitz. Our fourth and fifth graders will read “Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher,” by James Coville.

- Third Friday Craft: Friday, Nov. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m. Gobble, gobble, gobble! Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to make a fun Thanksgiving craft.

- Mother Goose Story Time features short rhymes, songs, finger plays and books to create a gentle language enrichment experience to bond children and their caregivers. Mother Goose is for infants-2 year olds and is offered every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

- Story Time Express is for children of all ages on Wednesdays at 3:30 and Thursdays at 11 a.m.

- Please note, Wednesday Preschool Story Time (ages 3 – 5 years) is at a new time, 11:30 a.m.

- Family Story Time is held on Saturdays at 11 a.m.

- Story Time for Twos will be held at its new time, Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

- Chinese/English Story time is on Wednesdays Nov. 7 and 21 at 7 p.m.
