NEWS BRIEFS Premier Fine Jewelers to close Dec. 24 Brook and Lesa Wooten, owners of Premier Fine Jewelers in the Almaden Plaza, are closing their store on Dec. 24. In a letter to customers, the Wootens said that the cost of leasing a store in San Jose is one of the factors that led them to the decision to move their 15-year-old business to Fresno. During the liquidation of merchandise, which begins Nov. 1, everything in the store will be sold at 40 percent to 50 percent off.
