Approximately 25 neighbors and community members turned out at Almaden's Glenview Park on Saturday morning to plant daffodils along the park's path and in the planters. The event is a city-wide project by San Jose Beautiful, which provides the daffodils in an effort to beautify parks, trails and median strips throughout the city.

Denelle Fedor, Vice-Mayor Pat Dando's legislative assistant, organized the Almaden Valley event. “It is a great opportunity to bring together neighbors and friends in the spirit of community,” said Fedor. “The warmest picture I have from the day is when the adults would finish digging the holes the children would carefully place a bulb into the ground and cover it up. They are so excited to come back in the springtime when the daffodils will be blooming.”

Altogether 300 bulbs were planted in the planters and ivy paths that cover the park, which is behind Williams Elementary School at McCall Drive and Quail Creek Circle.
