Almaden Area Police Report

10/6, Gang-related assault with a deadly weapon
5700 block of Via Monte
Two groups of juvenile males were involved in a violent altercation with sticks and a long screwdriver. The incident is part of an ongoing problem between the two groups. Four subjects sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated at Good Samaritan Hospital. One suspect was located at the scene and was booked into Juvenile Hall. Additional suspects are still outstanding. The incident is still under investigation.

10/6, Community policing
Williams Elementary School
Capt. Farmer and Lt. Calderon attended a community policing meeting at Williams Elementary School. The meeting was held by Councilmember Pat Dando to discuss the issues associated with The Almaden Feed and Fuel Restaurant and Bar. Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Director of the Department of Planning Joe Horwedell, Director of Code Enforcement Mike Hannon and Sgt. Karl Miccotti of the Vice Unit. Citizens expressed concerns about noise from the business, Almaden Feed and Fuel. A commitment was expressed by Councilmember Pat Dando and the other city representatives there to help resolve the issues. About 150 people were there.

10/7, Traffic enforcement
Guadalupe Elementary School
The district Adam team monitored morning dropoff at Guadalupe Elementary School in regard to a traffic complaint. During the past three mornings, the team has worked three school complaints regarding traffic violations. The schools and respective statistics are as follows: *Williams Elementary School (10-05-04) two cites/seven warnings, *Carlton Elementary School
(10-06-04) zero cites/one warning, *Guadalupe Elementary School (10-07-04) one cite/10 warnings. The team made contact with 21 parent/motorists’ issuing three citations and 18 educational warnings for lesser violations during this time.
