Almaden Country School students were prepared to “Push It to the Limit!” with the 25th annual Fund Run event on Friday, Oct. 5.
From “begindergarten” to eighth grade, enthusiastic students, parents, alumni and teachers ran, walked and cheered as they covered an accumulated total of more than 1,000 miles. Big buddies in grades five through eight ran with their little buddies in grades begindergarten through first grade giving encouragement and high fives all around.
Chairs Karen Carter and Melissa Fenton gathered an outstanding team of dedicated volunteers to assist with the event. Cougar Pride Days preceded the Fund Run with crazy hair and shirt day, class color T-shirt day and an exhilarating pep rally. Volunteer DJ dads Steve Tablak and Tom Fenton livened up the event with footloose, handclapping music throughout the day.

The “Push It to the Limit” theme for this year’s Fund Run was chosen through a contest in the spring. The winners were ACS students Victoria Hall and Kristalynn Marsh.
Funds raised from the sponsored laps go directly to the classrooms for educational materials and activities, and to support the many parent service auxiliary events throughout the year including the back-to-school family dinner, the traditional all-school Thanksgiving feast, middle school EDGE Day and the end-of-year carnival.
This year’s goal was set at raising $28,500 and seeing the tremendous participation on Friday that target is likely to be exceeded. Congratulations to all for “Pushing It to the Limit!”
