The San Jose Museum of Art Celebrates 35 years with “It’s About Time: Celebrating 35 Years” an exhibition of over 50 artworks selected from hundreds of newly donated pieces. This exhibit will showcase the tremendous support the museum has gained in recent years, through these unique pieces, all donated in honor of SJMA’s 35th year celebration. In addition to the new works, SJMA will publish a 288-page, full-color catalogue of the permanent collection. The Studio Theatre of California presents “Pillow Talk” at the Congregational Community Church of Sunnyvale, 1112 Bernado Avenue. Based on the screenplay by Stanley Shapiro and Maurice Richlin, this charming comedy features Dustin Milberg as Brad Allen and Molly Carter as Jan Morrow. The New Almaden Community Center will be hosting a weekly yoga class on Mon/Wed/Fri. at 6 a.m. and on Tues/Thurs. at 7 a.m. Attendees should bring their own yoga mats, however, there are a limited number of pads available. The Alzheimer’s Association’s 2004 Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s disease will he held at 9:30 a.m. on Treasure Island. Four Thousand participants from around the Bay Area are expected to participate in this annual event to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and awareness. It’s time again for Pumpkins in the Park! This great family event is now in its ninth year and will take place at Discovery Meadow, Guadalupe River Park, to the delight of families in the South Bay. Pumpkins in the Park is a celebration of the environment, the Guadalupe River, and the fall harvest season. Enjoy live entertainment by “Banana Slug String Band,” Andy Zamenes, and “Zun Zun.” There will be many fun activities for children, including pumpkin decorating, fire trucks, puppet shows, environmental education activities and the chance to learn some traditional circus arts from Cosmo the Clown.Admission is free, and the hours are 10 am to 4 pm.

San Jose Beautiful announces its 10th Annual Daffodil Planting Event. The city invites community groups, schools, scout groups, and youth centers to participate in their city-wide beautification effort. Request for bulbs should be made to San Jose Beautiful at 277-5208 by October 6. Bulb distribution will be on October 9 & 16 and planting will take place on October 23.
