How do you feel about the comments that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger made recently about “hot-blooded” Latinas that was allegedly leaked by the Angelides camp? Will it change how you planned to vote?
(Asked the Almaden Lake Park)
“I think it’s mud slinging by the Democrats. It’s irrelevant. Angelides will lose because he can’t keep up with the Schwarzenegger machine. It’s typical of the Democrats.”
Mike Gaskill, 42
South San Jose
Executive manager
“I think there’s mudslinging on both sides. It’s expected; politics are getting dirty, you don’t expect any better. I’m not going to vote!”
Tony Moquette, 30ish
Almaden
Developer
“I think it’s a racial comment. We are all living human beings. Politicians should be working more toward keeping the world safe for our children. It hasn’t changed how I will vote, I’ve just become more independent.”
Suzanne Ferrari, 43
Marin County
Real estate/travel agent and mom
“I don’t think he [Gov. Schwarzenegger] should have said it. It was tacky, maybe he should apologize again, but I like him. Leaking things has become common, but I don’t agree with it. I haven’t decided who I will vote for.”
Gisela Hertzer
Almaden
Bookkeeper
“I don’t like it. It’s unfair and it’s not right. It’s too bad that politicians have spies in each other’s camp. I guess it had to happen in this case. It won’t change how I vote."
Ed Collinson, 70
Almaden
Retired
“It was dirty. It would be nice if politicians just stuck to the issues instead of trying to make each other look bad. It probably won’t change how I vote.”
Sandy Hughes, 40ish
Los Gatos
Homemaker
"I don’t think it’s a big deal. The Web site wasn’t a secure site, others are doing it and it’s already in the public domain. I actually took it as a compliment. It won’t really change how I vote.”
Fred Poole
Almaden
Engineer for IBM
"It’s wrong. It’s dirty politics. He didn’t really say it in an open forum and [it might have been taken out of context because] all we heard was that one phrase. It has definitely influenced my vote."
Michele Johnson, 41
Almaden
Homemaker
“Yes, Arnold shoots his mouth off a lot, but I do too. I’m OK with leaking it. He did it. The people that like Arnie aren’t going to care. I don’t think this is a good question; it’s a stupid question. It [the statement and the leak] won’t change the way I vote.”
Bob Swan, 58
Almaden
Mortgage broker
“I think all this dirty stuff is wrong. They need to run it cleanly so we know what the real issues are about. It hasn’t changed my thinking yet.”
Amy Sechrist, 35
Almaden
Homemaker
