Do you think last weekend’s wet, cold weather is a precursor for a cold wet winter? Why or why not? (Asked at Starbucks, Almaden Plaza)
“I really don’t know. It’s the first time in two years [that I’ve been back here]. If it’s really starting already, I guess it will be cold and wet. It could be, I hope so because we need it drastically.”

“No, it’s going to be a dry, mild winter and every day will be a golf day.”

“Not necessarily. There are abnormalities in any weather pattern. You can’t make predictions off of a single incident, you need a trend.”
Scott Albert

“Not necessarily, it might have been a fluke. We’ve had weather like that in the past and then you get Indian summer. That doesn’t mean that there will necessarily be a lot of rain."
Patrick Wilson, 49
Almaden

“It’s just Indian summer, I don’t think there will be a drastic change from last winter to this winter. I’m praying for a normal winter, I don’t like cold weather.”
Cecilia Wilson, 49

He tossed a coin and said, “yes, I really don’t have any idea. We always have Indian summer in October, but I certainly appreciated the rain.”

"No, because last year on Sept. 27 it was raining when I came home from the hospital after giving birth. It was raining and cold. I think it was just like what we had last year."
Heidi Hayatt, 36
Almaden
Homemaker/former middle school teacher
“No, because we don’t have cold, wet winters here. There are cold wet winters in Germany, Iceland and Norway, but not here. I don’t think it is, but I hope so because we need lots of water.”
