8th annual Bark in the Park a howling success!

Ultimate dog party draws 10,000 dog lovers to Naglee Park neighborhood

Last Saturday nearly 10,000 dog lovers, some toting their “best friends” on a leash, attended the eighth annual Bark in the Park at William Street Park in the beautiful Naglee Park neighborhood downtown. The event has become a popular family destination for dog lovers of all ages.

On a perfect sunny day attendees enjoyed fun activities like a dog costume contest, silly dog tricks, a pet/owner look-alike contest, a free dog agility course, and search and rescue demonstrations. Attendees also found out about various local dog rescue organizations and were offered 99-cent rabies vaccinations. And, of course those in search of the perfect canine companion could survey the wide array of dogs being paraded around the park by their human companions.

Bark in the Park is a fund-raising event hosted by the Naglee Park neighborhood’s Campus Community Associa-tion (CCA). All proceeds benefit the CCA and Humane Society Silicon Valley. Both are nonprofit organizations serving the local community.

For more information on next year’s Bark in the Park, to be held Saturday, September 16th, visit the Bark in the Park Web site at www.BarkSanJose.org.
