Almaden women elected to Junior League board
Shanan Resop and Leslie Perez, both of Almaden, have been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Junior League of San Jose for 2004-2005. Resop is serving as placement chair and Perez is serving as sustaining advisor to the board.
Shanan Resop – placement chair
Shanan Resop grew up in San Jose and relocated to San Diego in 1986 to attend San Diego State University. In 1996, Shanan returned to the Bay Area when she became engaged to her husband Michael. Shanan has been in the residential mortgage business since 1994 and is currently the senior vice president of ClickHome, a full-service real estate and mortgage start-up company headquartered in Santa Clara.
Resop joined the Junior League of San Jose in August of 2001. She has served on the membership committee, co-chaired public relations for Fashion Show 2002 and oversaw the judging process for last year’s volunteer recognition luncheon. Resop was also a member of the placement committee, which is where she discovered her passion for keeping members connected to the League.
Resop and her husband Michael live in Almaden Valley.
Leslie Perez – sustaining advisor to the board
Leslie Perez was born in San Jose and went to school at Cal Poly, San Luis
Obispo. After graduating, she worked in Washington, D.C. for Congressman Norman Mineta. Although she wanted a career in law, she is now in insurance sales and has been with her company for 18 years.
Perez joined JLSJ in 1989. Some positions she has held include administrative vice president, corresponding secretary, rummage sale co-chair, nominating committee chair and membership committee co-chair. Perez is excited to serve as one of the Sustaining Advisors to the Board.
Outside of the League, Perez serves on the board of the Silicon Valley Association of Health Underwriters as their secretary. She is also involved in the VIP League, Gaieties, and her monthly book club.
Perez lives in Almaden and has two children, Sydney and Grant.
