Did you watch the Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Beijing last Friday? What was your favorite part? What have you been watching since? (Asked at the Sonoma Chicken Coop)
“Yes, I watched it. My favorite part was when the U.S. athletes came out. I haven’t watched much of them, just a little basketball.”
Julio Rivera, 42

“I watched some of it. My favorite was when the U.S. team came out and we got to see all the star athletes. About the only thing I’ve heard since was about the killing of the father-in-law of the volleyball coach.”
Maria Rivera, 41
Patterson, Calif.
Homemaker
“Yes, I watched it. I liked all of it; it was pretty cool. The swimming is the best.”
Seth Bragg, 30

“I didn’t watch the opening ceremonies. But I’ve watched some basketball, swimming, beach volleyball and gymnastics. I haven’t seen any results though.”
Will Rodriquez, 45

“I watched part of it. My favorite was when they began raising the Olympic rings with all the cool lights. I’ve been watching it a lot especially the swimming, gymnastics, beach volleyball and regular volleyball.”
Briana Mignano, 18
Almaden
Student at West Valley College
“Yes, I watched it, I especially liked the drums and the man-powered boxes that moved up and down. I’ve been watching gymnastics, swimming, beach volleyball, volleyball and a little basketball.”
Carla Gentry, 45
Almaden
Executive assistant
“Yes, I did watch it and everything was spectacular. The drums were cool and so was the man running through the air to light the flame. I’ve watched when I can, but not nearly as much as I’d like. I’m not
happy with the tape delay.”
Jeanie Howard, 46
Ben Lomand
Chemist
“Yes I did watch it, but I didn’t see it all. I thought the best parts were when the guys were dancing and making Chinese characters and the man-powered boxes and the drummers. The synchronization was something else. I’m watching as much as I can, I want to see women’s gymnastics.”
