Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence hold
Healing Touch Spa Party fund-raiser

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is holding a spa party fund-raiser, called the Healing Touch Spa Party on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hotel Los Gatos, which is located at 210 E. Main Street in Los Gatos.

The fund-raiser will feature mini spa treatments and glamour stations featuring makeup artists and hair stylists designing “party do’s.” In addition, guests will enjoy spa “mocktails” and appetizers, along with DJ grooves for poolside fun. A crew of lifeguards will be there to ensure that everyone has fun. Spa vendors will demonstrate their newest and most luxurious products. A tantalizing silent auction will include all sorts of opportunities to pamper yourself while you make a contribution to combating domestic violence. 

Modeled after last November’s successful Healing Touch Girls Night Out event, the evening will also feature Carmen Richardson Rutlen, author of “Dancing Naked in Fuzzy Red Slippers.” The author, who is donating her time to the vent, received the Celebrity Award from the National League of American Pen Women and has been published in three “Chicken Soup for the Soul Books.” She has lived in Germany, Okinawa and Caracas, Venezuela and now lives in California and runs her own advertising agency. She currently is working on her second book.

Each guest will receive a VIP goodie bag with spa and beauty treats. A no-host bar will be available, and partygoers will receive a special discount on dinner at Kuleto’s Restaurant that evening, post-party.

Saratoga’s Preston Wynne Spa is a principal sponsor of the event. General admission tickets are $79, with the VIG (spa treatments and gift bags) available for $139. All the money goes to helping battered women.
