The San Jose Jazz Society is proud to announce the 16th Annual Comcast San Jose Jazz Festival presented by Southwest Airlines. This free festival brings more than 80 traditional jazz, blues, salsa, and latin jazz acts to downtown San Jose across four days, Headliners include Angela Hagenbach, Eddie Palmieri, Jason Moran and The Bandwagon and many more. Campbell’s Summer Concert Series winds down with a fabulous session featuring “The Crocodiles” Bring a chair, a snack and sit back and enjoy the sweet sounds of summer on Orchard City Green between City Hall and the Campbell Library. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and are free to the public.

Bin Huang in Concert at the California Theatre – one night only, from 8 – 10:30 p.m. This concert is a commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. It is primarily a classical music concert, featuring Bin Huang, the first prize winner of the 41st Paganini International Violin Competition. The concert repertoire comprises Jewish music and Chinese music during World War II, Paganini Caprices and Beethoven’s Sonata for violin and piano. Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose presents “Sleeping Beauty” at the Montgomery Theater.
CMT’s youngest performers cast a charm on the audience with a favorite childhood fairytale. This version, commissioned by Prince Street players, is filled with fairies, a funny villainess named Trollarina and few more magical spells than usual. Sleeping Beauty will feature beautiful sets and costumes and a large cast of 6- to 9- year olds, including many making their stage debut as CMT performers. The Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens are collaborating with History San Jose, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum & Planetarium, San Jose Museum of Art, Don Edward’s San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Tech Museum and the Winchester Mystery House to present a full week of unique educational experiences. San Jose Safari Summer Day Camp is designed for children ages 7 – 10 years. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting point is the Guadalupe Gardens Visitor Center, in San Jose. Hay House author Lynnette Brown will lead a workshop/discussion on “Angel Numbers” at Moonfyre Metaphysical Store, 401 East Campbell Avenue, from 1 – 3 p.m. In this class attendees will learn how Angels speak through the repetitive number sequences seen on license plates, phone numbners, clocks or other locations such as 111, 333, and 444.
