Homeowner reports animal mauling on Blackbird Court

Editor,
I thought I should advise the Almaden Times of the mutilation death of our pet cat late Saturday or early Sunday, July 26-27. Our indoor/outdoor cat Frankie, who arrived in our yard, was destroyed by raccoons or a coyote. He adopted us about four years ago and was a loving and wonderful cat, even to those of us that aren’t typically cat people.

This is not the first time we have had problems with animals, our next-door neighbors lost a number of koi to raccoons (evidenced by footprints) and our cat was mauled in a similar manner. Our neighbors have since covered their koi pond with mesh and that seems to have halted damage to them.

I’m reporting this in case there are other similar incidents in the area. If there are, the County Vector Control office at (408) 918-4770 should be advised.
