CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK
TYPE OF CRIME: Prowling
During July, the San Jose Police Department has been investigating a series of prowling incidents occurring in the downtown area over the past several weeks. An unknown suspect entered several occupied residences in the early morning hours. The suspect typically pries off or cuts a screen from a window and enters the residence. On one incident, the suspect inappropriately touched an adult female victim as she was sleeping.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 170-180 pounds. He is further described as having curly hair and a dark complexion.
CRIME STOPPERS is a cooperative effort between the local media, San Jose Police Department, and a citizen Board of Directors. Once a week an unsolved police case is presented to the public. Citizens are urged to call 947-STOP if they have information on any other serious crime and remain anonymous. Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to an arrest. You do not give your name, you are given a code number.
