Award-winning Foothill music Theatre presents “Brigadoon” from July 22 – August 14 at The Smithwick Theatre at Foothill College, I-280 at El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. Set in the Scottish Highlands, “Brigadoon” is a magical tale of time travel and the enduring power of love. 17th Annual Miller Music in the Park Concert Series. Performances are every Thursday evening from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, Market Street near San Fernando Street in downtown San Jose. Thomas the Tank Engine will be in Felton at the Roaring Camp Railroads marking the 60th Anniversary of the Thomas & Friends storybook series and the 10th Anniversary of the Day Out With Thomas Events, this year is sure the be the best yet! This is a real train that has been converted into Thomas.

July 29 – August 7
Children’s Musical Theater ends its Mainstage season at the Montgomery Theater with the rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” by musical theater greats Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. CMT updates this 1970’s classic to cast Jesus’ story in terms familiar to today’s audience, making him a charismatic coffee shop philosopher whose message and tolerance infuriates the mega-conglomerate suits. Instead of a cross, Jesus is put to death by lethal injection. The Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens are collaborating with History San Jose, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum & Planetarium, San Jose Museum of Art, Don Edward’s San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Tech Museum and the Winchester Mystery House to present a full week of unique educational experiences. San Jose Safari Summer Day Camp is designed for children ages 7 – 10 years. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting point is the Guadalupe Gardens Visitor Center, in San Jose. Do you enjoy reading and helping others? Consider a richly rewarding volunteer opportunity as a Tutor in the adult literacy program - Partners in Reading. Sign up now for the September 15th orientation and training on September 17th and 24th. Fourteen hours of training, instructional materials, & on-going support are all provided free. San Jose Grand Prix: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. San José McEnery Convention Center & Downtown Streets. The San Jose Grand Prix event will represent so much more than a race. It will be a week long non-stop festival both on and off the track. Onsite beach volleyball, checkered flag festival area with music, interactive games, music, driver autograph sessions. Off track events include a street festival and fundraising events for Canary fund, a non-profit dedicated to early detection of cancer. Admission is $45 - $150.
