Don't start your engines! Ride VTA to this weekend's San Jose Grand Prix

July 28 marks the return of one of California's largest and most anticipated sporting events-the San Jose Grand Prix.

The 10th stop in the Champ Car World Series features an international field of world-class drivers. Drivers expected to participate this year include former Series champions Jimmy Vasser of Morgan Hill, Cristiano da Matta,
Paul Tracy and Sebastien Bourdais; plus A.J. Allmendinger of Los Gatos.

To get to the fun without the hassle of driving and parking, ride VTA.

Traveling from South San Jose: Ride light rail into downtown San Jose and exit at the Children's Discovery Museum Station.

On Friday, ride light rail into downtown San Jose and exit at the Children's Discovery Museum Station. On Saturday and Sunday, ride light rail to the Race Street Station and transfer to the free bus bridge to get to the race entrance.

Anywhere within Santa Clara County: Ride VTA Light Rail or Bus Lines 22, 23, 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 72, 73, 81, 82, 180 and Rapid 522* to the race.

*Line 522 does not operate on Sundays.

For a faster ride to the race, get your VTA eight-hour excursion pass.

Due to the large crowds expected for the San Jose Grand Prix, VTA encourages you to buy an eight-hour excursion pass for quicker boarding on your trip to and from the race.

Prices for the VTA eight-hour excursion pass are: adults, $3.50; youths (5-17), $3; seniors (65+)/disabled/Medicare, $1.50.

Valid for eight hours from the time of purchase only on VTA Light Rail. Not valid for bus services. Sold only at VTA light rail ticket vending machines.
