‘101 (or so) Dalmatians’ dominate Montevideo Fourth of July Parade contest
The Montevideo neighborhood streets came alive with the annual Fourth of July parade. This year’s parade theme was children’s stories and movies, with floats from the “Wizard of Oz,” “Peter Pan,” “Pinocchio,” “Shrek,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “101 Dalmatians” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Hundreds of local residents lined the parade route to support the largest parade of its kind in San Jose. The enthusiastic residents of Upper Puerto Vallarta were victorious for the second year in a row with their adaptation of “101 Dalmatians.” Cruella De Ville was played with great flair by James Creer, a resident of Upper PV. “We had the entire block out to play the Dalmatians,” said Robert Lacis. “This year’s parade really brought the residents of Upper PV together and it was great to see their spirit, teamwork and participation.”
“This year’s Montevideo 4th of July Parade was again a big success. This yearly tradition continues to grow with more and more families and blocks participating each year,” said Montevideo resident Dan Migliore. “This year’s parade involved a record number of floats along with larger family participation and support. Everyone who attended had a great time.”
