Almaden art students win top awards in
international and national art competitions
Students from Cindy Art Studio in Almaden Valley have been winning top honors at local, national, and international art competitions this year, beginning with the 35th Annual Pentel International Children's Arts Competition.

Out of the 60,000 international and over 2,000 American entries, four students from Cindy Art Studio earned top honors. Grace Chang, a Leland High School sophomore, won a gold award for her painting “Books are
Flying.” Williams Elementary student Robert Tseng’s painting “San Jose Express” won a silver award. David Zhang (age 9) also took home a silver award for his painting “An Owl.” And 9-year-old Jessica Xu’s painting “Swimming Show” won a bronze award.
The achievements don’t end there. Anneliese Bratko (age 13) took first place at the California State Fair Art Contest, and 13-year-old Jackie Kan placed second in the Chinese New Year Peach Blossoms Art
Contest.
And in this year’s National Wildlife Refuge 24th Annual Endangered Species Poster Contest in San Francisco, Stephanie Sung, age 7, took honorable mention with her color pencil drawing of the California brown pelican. Her poster was singled out from over 450 entries.
