Red Hat Society article reminds Almaden woman
that caregivers need to take care of themselves too

Editor,
Last week after reading the article Kymberli Brady wrote about the Red Hat Society, a member of AVAC called me in tears. She and her husband had put their membership on hold because of health issues. She has become his caretaker and while she loves him with her whole heart, it is taking a toll on her mental well-being. The article reminded her of the friends she has had when she is at the club. And she is making it a priority to come to the activities we have with the Red Hat Society occasionally just to see her friends and have an outing so that she can better tend to the needs of her husband.

Articles in the Almaden Times do more than just cover news and community activities. In this case it shows that news items hit a chord with residents of Almaden. It not only lets us know what is happening, it reminds us that our health and well-being in this community are also priority.

Thank you to you and Kymberli Brady for pointing it out so well in the article.

Reader finds Borowitz Report offensive

Editor,
As a longtime Almaden resident and reader of your paper, I want to let you know that I find The Borowitz Report to be offensive and not entertaining. I am not aware when it started appearing in the Almaden Times, but after putting up with it for a while, I felt compelled to write and let you know that I for one do not appreciate it and find it detracts from your product. If I am a lone voice then so be it, but if not, you may want to reconsider your decision to include it in your paper. It is strange to me to see it in the paper as I see no other political satire.
