Fox Meadow Court celebrates Independence Day
with bike parade
Every July Fourth, Fox Meadow Court celebrates Independence Day with a neighborhood barbecue and children’s bike parade. The biggest and oldest kid, Jack France (right), led the parade last weekend with a unique costume. This year he truly outdid himself. Suzanne Freeze (below, right) and Sharon Cannon, among others, have taken it upon themselves to organize the annual event. The court is blocked off to traffic, and tables, chairs, and umbrellas are set up. The cooks fire up the barbecues and the court DJ sets up the music as a potluck of delicious food is laid out to an appreciative audience. It’s a great way for the neighbors to get to know each other and build a spirit of community.
This year about 65 adults and children had a great time.
