Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force offers parent information lecture this Saturday
The City of San Jose Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force in partnership with California Youth Outreach invites parents to hear speakers talk about the gang problem in the city.
The speakers will discuss the nature of the gang lifestyle and the most common reasons gangs exist; how to detect gang presence by learning to identify paraphernalia and behaviors associated with gangs; and why youth join gangs, how they are recruited and the different levels of involvement.
The talk will be held this Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Franklin McKinley School District Office, 645 Wool Creek Drive, Boardroom 1 in San Jose. Children’s activities will be provided for children ages 6-12. For more information, call Joe Mosley at (408) 871-3820.
