Attempted Armed Robbery
June 18, 5400 block of Camden Avenue
Employees were closing Taco Bell when two suspects smashed a window and entered the restaurant. The employees were held at gunpoint and demands were made for the contents of the safe. The adult male suspects fled without any store money when an employee was unable to open the safe. One suspect was believed to be armed with a shotgun. None of the employees were injured. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
DUI, Major Injury Accident
June 19, McKean Road
A major injury, drunk driving accident occurred on McKean Road about 1.5 miles south of Bailey Avenue. A female driver (under 21 years old) in a four-door Honda was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed northbound on McKean Road when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the double-yellow center line. She collided head-on with a VW sedan traveling northbound on McKean Road. The female driver of the VW was severely injured and was in danger of dying while in surgery at the hospital. She has since pulled through and is in critical but stable condition. The driver of the first vehicle, which flipped and rolled about 100 yards down the road, was arrested for DUI/injuries and released at the hospital due to her injuries. She also had four passengers in her vehicle that sustained moderate to severe injuries. Out of the six people involved in the crash, three were airlifted to trauma centers and three were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
