Nine lives?
Kittens survive being
in crushed car

Last Friday, June 11, San Jose Animal Control responded to a call from P&C Auto Dealers, on Trade Zone Blvd. in San Jose. They found two kittens meowing inside an auto that they had just been crushed, not once but three times. The kittens, which each weighed less than a pound, survived without a scratch on them and they were brought to Humane Society Silicon Valley for evaluation.

Beth Ward, HSSV’s Vice President of Animal Care fed the kittens formula with the help of Customer Service Rep Alexis Garcia. The two kittens (named Jack and Jill) are now in foster care with Ward and will be placed up for adoption when they reach 2 pounds, at about 8 weeks of age.

Now that it’s kitten season, dozens of kittens are being brought to the shelter each day. To find out how to adopt a kitten or to volunteer as a kitten foster parent visit www.hssv.org.
