CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK

Armed robbery
On June 8 at approximately 10:30 at night, an armed robbery occurred at Branham Video Store, located at 185 Branham Lane. A black male entered the video store holding a silver or stainless steel semi-automatic pistol.

The suspect pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from the register. When the clerk opened the register, the suspect took the money himself and put it in a black bag the suspect was carrying. Before leaving the store, the suspect circled the store, presumably to make sure no one was calling the police. The suspect left the store running southbound through the parking lot toward Branham Lane, then jumped a fence into an open field adjacent to the corner of Branham Lane and Snell Avenue.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s. He is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 weighing approximately 130 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a hood over his head, a checkered bandana over his face, black pants, and skateboarder shoes.

CRIME STOPPERS is a cooperative effort between the local media, San Jose Police Department, and a citizen Board of Directors. Once a week an unsolved police case is presented to the public. Citizens are urged to call 947-STOP if they have information on any other serious crime and remain anonymous. Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to an arrest. You do not give your name, you are given a code number.
