Stop vandalizing our homes

Editor,
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 8, someone threw a rock through a double pane window in my son's room. According to a neighbor, she heard some older kids out on the street laughing and giggling away.

The rock, which was almost as big as the size of my palm, landed next to my son's bed and there were glass fragments everywhere from the broken window. My son was asleep at that time in his bed, which was next to the window. He told us when the rock went through his window, it woke him up and it scared him. He hid under his covers and eventually fell asleep... Unfortunately, the following night he was too scared to sleep in his own bedroom.

I am compelled to share this as the rock that went through the window could have hit my son while he was asleep and the shattered glass could have cut him.

I just wanted to share this in hopes that whoever threw the rock will read this and realize that their foolish and childish act of vandalism could have unknowingly hurt an innocent 5-year-old boy who was sound asleep in his bed that night.

Regards,

A very upset and concerned mom
