Almaden Area Crime Report

Recovered vehicle
6/3, Country View Lane/McKean Road
An officer was patrolling the area of Country View Estates off the east side of McKean Road above Calero Reservoir. While at the summit of the hill, he found an abandoned late model Mercedes with all of its contents strewn on the roadway outside the vehicle. En route to this location, officers spotted a Hispanic male juvenile (later determined to be the suspect) walking down the roadway from the first officer location. It was determined that the vehicle had been stolen in the town of Los Altos and the officer located it before it was reported missing. The suspect was an escapee from the “Ranch” (Juvenile Authorities) and confessed to stealing the vehicle and sorting through its contents before throwing the items out of the vehicle.
