Teatro Visión is excited to bring back “Santos & Santos” the ground breaking play by award winning playwright, Octavio Solis. Hard hitting and filled with insight into the absurdity of a corrupt ‘justice system,’ “Santos & Santos” depicts a family’s struggle with wealth and power. All performances will take place at The Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater, 1700 Alum Rock Ave., San José Tickets are $14-17 each. Senior, student and group discounts are available. CHILDREN & FAMILY

The Tech Museum and Transitions Optical, Inc are hosting a new exhibit “Eye Didn’t Know That!” created to help people of all ages learn more about healthy vision. The exhibit is traveling nationwide, and was developed by a team of eye care professionals, science and education experts. This exhibit features fun activities, interactive kiosks, and a short video to teach children and their families the fundamentals about eyes and how they see. Visitors can explore the wonders of the visible and invisible light spectrum; learn about the dangers of UV radiation and glare and how to protect against them; look through a cataract; and see how corrective and photochromic lenses work. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Final Performance of “The Sleeping Beauty”! See the splendor of the Renaissance in this wondrous fairy tale which pits evil against knowledge and courage. When the most unpleasant fairy in the kingdom is mistakenly not invited to the princess’ christening, she casts a spell that makes the entire kingdom sleep for 100 years. “The Sleeping Beauty” will play at the Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre, 550 East Remington Drive (just off El Camino Real), at11a.m. Single tickets are $11.00 in advance and $12.00 at the door. June 4 – Saturday
MLS Futbolito, Major League Soccer’s official 4-v-4 amateur soccer tournament, will be in San Jose at SJSU’s Spartan Stadium, 1257 S. 10th Street. This amateur tournament targets the league’s growing multicultural fan base and is open to players of all ages, abilities and affiliations. Team rosters can consist of up to seven players and each team will play a minimum of three games in round-robin action. In addition to the games, each registered player will receive an official MLS Futbolito event t-shirt, one ticket to a MLS game (in MLS markets only) and the chance to win various prizes from Panasonic and RadioShack. Legendary midfielder Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama will greet guests and sign autographs at most events. The entrance fee is $150 per team for those competing in the Premier Division and $120 per team for all other divisions. Join with tamale lovers and aficionados from all over the region at Emma Prusch Farm Park for the 2005 Story Road Tamale Festival, celebrating this rich cultural heritage. See who makes the best tamales, enjoy great food and two stages of live entertainment, including the music of “Malo”. There’s fun for everyone including tamale eating contests, tamale cooking demonstrations, unique arts and crafts, plus special fun activities for the children. Emma Prusch Farm Park is located just off Highway 280 and 101, at Story and King Road, in San Jose. The Festival opens to the public at 10 AM and admission is free. Silicon Valley Aquatic Association, located at the Gunderson High School Aquatic Center in San Jose, is now accepting advance registration for the following summer aquatics programs:  Red Cross Swim Lessons, Recreation Swim Team, Baby Aquatics and Adult Swim Lessons.  All summer programs begin in June. AARP Information Center needs volunteers to staff their office. Duties include helping seniors find various services and programs, and providing information on senior needs. The office is located at 840 Willow Street, Suite 300, at the corner of Bird and Willow Streets on bus route #25. The Geriatric Advisory Program is a service providing documented analysis, advice and resources to those caring for aging family members and is available through the Almaden Valley Counseling Service. Sliding scale fees available. 975-2988.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Water Wizard Festival volunteers needed for a Friday, May 27, event for 300 local third grade students and their teachers. A variety of opportunities exist, such as preparing materials ahead of time, setting up the fun stations the day before, teaching the youngsters the day of, and so much more! We are in great need for volunteers on the day of the festival (May 27) from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.!

Ongoing:
The Campbell Highland Games Association is seeking volunteers for all day on Friday and Saturday June 17-18 for the 27th Annual Campbell Scottish Highland Games and Celtic Gathering. The event is June 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Campbell Community Center, but the work starts now. High school and Church community service groups are also welcome. Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley, www.wcsv.org, seeks center volunteers and home care volunteers to care for injured and orphaned wildlife for release back to the wild. We also need volunteers to help with educational outreach, database/office management, landscaping, facilities planning and fundraising. The Wildlife Center, located in San Jose, has an active and enthusiastic corps of volunteers committed to welcoming and training new supporters.  Join us in giving a hand to our Silicon Valley wildlife. MISCELLANEOUS
April 15 – July 31
History Park San Jose will present “Macau - Universal Heritage,” a photographic exhibition of 52 vibrant images featuring Macau’s historical architecture. The exhibit is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 12 to 5 p.m. The photographs focus on buildings and sites presented by the People’s Republic of China to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in a proposal for Macau’s classification as a World Heritage site.

The Morgan Center is hosting a “Second Chance Prom”in the Fellowship Hall, Church of the Valley,400 N Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara 7:30 - 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person . Celebrate with live music, great food and a cause that touches the entire community. The after school program meets daily to encourage the development of autistic kids by putting them together with other non-disabled kids and teens so that they can mutually benefit from positive social interaction. Two Opera San Jose resident artists will be singing at the final General Club Meeting of the San Jose Women’s Club The luncheon, program and meeting will be held at the beautiful historic clubhouse located at 75 So. 11th Street.
