Almaden Times Weekly reporter applauded for a job well done
Editor,
Our Hall family article appeared on the cover of the May 13-19, 2005 issue of the Almaden Times Weekly. When I phoned the paper to inquire as to the possibility of our story being printed, I was informed that a reporter would be in touch. And shortly afterwards, we had the pleasure of meeting Jeanne Lewis.
Immediately she made all of us feel extremely comfortable, even though the story was convoluted because of the details involved. And her interest was felt by all of us to be genuine. She seemed to be involved in the story, not from just a “professional reporter” approach (which was obvious), but from the perspective of a very caring and interested person. We feel extremely fortunate that she was assigned to report our story.
After the article appeared, we received a call from a stranger (to us). She said she lived in the Almaden Valley and looked up our name in the phone directory. She informed us that she had read the article and could not stop crying, as she was so moved by the story. She wanted to call and let us know. Again, that was indicative of how effective Jeanne Lewis was in writing our story.
Thank you for allowing us to share our story. And thanks to Jeanne. She was truly wonderful, even providing extra copies of the paper to send to our French family. We appreciate her so very much.
