One School at a Time (OSAAT) presents “Ganga-Kaveri” one of the most sought after ensembles of musicians from India, performing at the CET Theater, 701 Vine Street in San Jose from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. This performance offers a rich fusion of Indian folk, devotional and jazz music by Vidwan Anoor Ananth Krishna Sharma (Mridangam), Vidwan M.K. Family Fitness in the Park - Co-sponsored by Kaiser Permanente San Jose and Friends of Guadalupe River Park and Gardens. Spend quality active time together as a family. Led by Instructor Kristin Strellis, this fun and family oriented fitness class will include stretching and fun games to increase health. Classes include a Healthy Start Kit for kids, pedometers and other healthy living material and videos from Kaiser Permanente San Jose. Session cost is $25.00 per family of 4 (must include at least one child 5-16 years old; additional family members are $5 per person) this activity is appropriate for ages 5 years and older, family participation required. Pre-registration is required. All classes will begin at the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens Visitor & Education Center located at 438 Coleman Avenue in San Jose. Children’s Musical Theater Mainstage presents CATS playing at the Montgomery Theater. Featuring a single cast of talented 14-20-year-old performers, CATS promises to be the “must-see” dance extravaganza of CMT’s 39th season. CATS is directed and choreographed by Jacob Brent, known for his portrayal of the magical Mr. Mistoffelees in the Broadway, London and Video productions of CATS. Calling all airplane enthusiasts! Friends of Guadalupe River Parks and Gardens Challenges you to “Name that Plane” in their after school workshop on Plane Spotting. Learn how to identify aircraft and make a spotting journal to record your sightings. We will explore the basic physics of flight and take a closer look at the engineering that allows planes to fly. Design your own paper airplanes and test them at our unique location near the flight path of San Jose International Airport. Hours are 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. geared for ages 5 -10 years. Cost is $12 members, $17 non-members and includes plane spotter guide.All programs take place at the GRP & G Visitor & Education Center, 438 Coleman Avenue in San Jose. Ballet San Jose School presents "The Tinderbox" at The California Theatre. This American Premiere ballet features the Professional Division students of Ballet San Jose School and special guest artists from Ballet San Jose. Choreographed by Lise La Cour, this production is based on the original fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Tickets are $15 - $45. Boogie on the Bayou returns to Campbell: Just when you thought it was safe to put away those Mardi Gras beads, downtown Campbell, reining queen of the outdoor festival, offers up this springtime arts and crafts fest with a decidedly down-home flavor. Craft vendors, food booths and three stages of entertainment will be the fare du jour. And of course, les petites won’t be forgotten, as Kiddie Korner will offer up activities and games from face painting and rock climbing to the most toddler-tempting bouncy houses.

New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum presents "Play Like a Miner" where kids from 6 to 12 can experience games, adventures and win prizes. Summer is the time for California Theatre Center’s exciting and educational Summer Theatre Conservatory Program. Based in Sunnyvale, California Theatre Center (CTC) has offered its hands-on theatre Conservatories for ages 8 and up for over twenty years. By popular demand CTC now offers 2-week-long, half-day/ morning Junior Conservatories for ages 6-8. Registrations are currently being accepted at 245-2979. CTC’s regular Summer Conservatory is a three-week-long intensive workshop for young people ages 8 and up (must turn 8 by July 1, 2007) who are interested in developing and improving theatre skills. Youth Science Institute is taking registrations now for their Summer Science Camps! Designed for children ages 3 ½ to 14, there are over 35 camps to choose from. Camps include Bugology, Mighty Forest, Science Sleuths and Wild Wonders, just to name a few. Children enjoy the wonders of science and the natural world with hands-on projects, experiments, crafts, hikes and games. Camp fees range from $130 to $205 per week. Camps start the week of June 18th and run through August 17th at each of YSI’s Science and Nature Centers, located at Alum Rock Park in San Jose, Sanborn Park in Saratoga and Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Scholarships are available at the YSI Centers in Alum Rock and Sanborn. Classes fill up quickly, so call 356-4945 today for more information or to register.

"Hands On Clay" classes in Almaden is accepting students for Summer 2007. Come create unique pieces that will surely impress your family and friends! The fee for these small classes (4 students) includes instructions, materials, use of tools, and kiln firings. Just in time for Spring-- a new exhibit, "A Garden of Lace" at the Sunnyvale Lace Museum. The exhibit will run May 1 through July 28. The free exhibit features lace with intricate floral designs from the 1800's forward. Flowers have been a favorite subject for needlework designers for hundreds of years. This special exhibit features lace edged dresses, shawls, collars, bonnets, doilies, table cloths and bedspreads. The Lace Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and located at 552 South Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale, CA with free parking.

Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC), 5400 Camden Avenue in San Jose will host a fundraiser to benefit TurningWheels for Kids. AVAC has partnered with TurningWheels for Kids, an organization that encourages active lifestyles among underprivileged children, and aims to assist the organization's efforts to provide 1,534 bicycles to children this year. This fundraising event is two, two-hour spinning sessions on the Club's outdoor swimming pool deck. Sessions will be conducted by AVAC's certified spinning instructors and choreographed to a live music DJ. A $50 dollar donation will buy one of 40 seats available for each session. The first session is from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., followed by a second session from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring guests and seek sponsorships.
