Almaden residents visit Silver Creek Home Tour
 |
People from all over the South Bay toured four homes during the Addison Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley’s Homes of Vines and Roses tour May 10-11. Above, Danielle Harris and LeaAnne Doughterty, both from Almaden Valley, are greeted by a group of tour sponsors from Windemere Realty. From the left, Ron Jones, Scott and Diane Grant and Bonnie Griffith stand just outside the home the tour calls Old World Elegance. This is the first time the tour has been held outside Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Los Gatos and it seemed to enchant those viewing the homes. “It’s absolutely incredible. I feel like I’m on vacation,” said Harris and Dougherty. The monies raised from the tours go to support programs and services provided by the JCC, for people of all faiths and income levels throughout the South Bay including scholarships to families and individuals requiring assistance in order to belong or participate.
Little touches show off the elegance of this 7,500-square-foot home. It features a dining room just off the foyer connected to the kitchen by a pantry-like hallway. The kitchen is large and comes with an island and is across from a den, with both looking into the backyard swimming pool. All four bedrooms have their own baths and there is a powder room near the first-floor bedroom. Three bedrooms are located upstairs and can be reached by a front or back staircase. Their father built the furniture in the children’s rooms. There’s a two-story library office on the first floor and a huge laundry room.
