Almaden Country School students to celebrate their many talents
at upcoming All School Student Exhibition & Talent Show
School is not just about learning reading, writing and arithmetic. The students, faculty and staff at Almaden Country School have experienced that firsthand. For 25 years, Almaden Country School has been focused on helping discover the gifts in every child by providing a curriculum full of opportunities for the arts, music, and creative exploration that enhances the rigorous academic work of the students.

For three nights Tuesday May 22 through Thursday May 24, the auditorium at Almaden Country School will be transformed into a showcase celebrating the accomplishments of every child in the school from preschool through eighth grade. Viewing of the gallery will be open to the public on May 23 and 24
from 8:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Additionally, the public is encouraged to come on the evenings of May 22-24, when the school courtyard will come alive as students perform and share their talents from 6 to 8 p.m.
The All School Student Exhibition & Talent Show, ASSETS, brings to the forefront the wonderful class work that students have done throughout the year. Examples of what you will see in the gallery come from core academic subjects, visual arts and other enrichment classes.
Enrichment classes cover a range of topics; some samples are science fair projects and Spanish and French presentations. In the evenings, students share individual and collective talents through performances on
stage. Starmites and Zoom, two school-based performing arts groups, will sing. The kindergarten has prepared a special presentation and other classes including physical education and the middle school elective, “History of Rock & Roll,” will have their turn in the spotlight. Individual students will share their special talents as well, varying from playing a musical instrument to karate.
Through 25 years of experience, the school has seen the way participation in the arts helps all other aspects of learning, and how the chance to share those talents inspires classmates and builds a child’s self-confidence. The community is invited to share in this celebration of Almaden Country School’s student accomplishments.
Almaden Country School is located at 6835 Trinidad Drive, San Jose, CA 95120. For more information call 408-997-0424 or visit the Web site at www.a-cs.org.
