4/29, Attempted Murder
Almaden and Coleman
The victim/reporting party responded to the information center regarding this event. The victim (WF/53 years old) awoke this morning to her male friend (WM/40 years old) assaulting her. Startled but now awake, he squirted lighter fluid on her blouse. She hurriedly removed it, escaping serious injuries. He then soaked a towel in the fluid and ignited it with the same lighter. He began damaging the dwelling as she put out the fire. Afraid to leave, she waited until he passed out to escape from the condo. She responded to the police department where she reported it. An officer made contact with her near Almaden Lake along with four other team members. Entry was then made and the victim’s residence where the suspect was taken onto custody for domestic violence and other charges. An officer requested an “EPRO” on behalf of the victim.
4/30, Death by Natural Causes
6800 Block of Heathfield Court
Family members found the 76-year-old victim not breathing in bed this morning. Paramedics were unable to revive the victim. The victim suffered from Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and Parkinson’s diseases. No signs of foul play were evident. Day Detectives responded to the scene and the coroner released the deceased.
