Leslie Reynolds elected SCCSBA president
Leslie Reynolds, the current vice president of San Jose Unified School District board of trustees, was elected president of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association.
She will be sworn in on May 28 during the SCCSBA annual re-organization meeting. Reynolds represents the southern portion of San Jose Unified School District, Area 5, which includes Almaden Valley.
Reynolds was elected to the SJUSD's board in 2004. Prior to her role as a trustee and full-time mom, she held several managerial positions at a large software subsidiary of General Electric. She is well qualified to step into the role of SCCSBA president as she currently serves as their executive vice president and as a delegate and governmental relations chair to California School Boards Association.
While fulfilling her obligations to various SJUSD District committees, Reynolds also continues to stay active and involved in her children's schools, Bret Harte Middle School and Leland High School. She volunteers at Bret Harte and is on the Transformation and Foundation boards at Leland High School.
She has served in various elected positions within PTA and believes in public education and the right for all children to develop to their full potential. Her offices include past PTA Council president, vice president and historian as well as historian on the Santa Clara County PTA Board. Her volunteer work includes past Santa Clara County School Boards Association treasurer, past School Site Council president and PTA vice president for Williams Elementary.
While raising her two children with her husband Bruce, Reynolds earned her master’s degree in governance from CSBA and is currently attending San Jose State.
